Cloth Carousel & Quiltworks
Owner: Jan Bawart

Welcome to Cloth Carousel.  We are located in Historic Downtown Winters, on the first floor of the Opera House Building.  We have been serving the quilting community for over 10 years.  When you come through our door, you will be greeted by a friendly and highly skilled staff of quilters.  You will be delighted by the array of fabric, notions, books, kits, and quilts.

Among the ever changing 1200 bolts of fabric are 30’s Reproductions and Batiks, current collections and novelties, brights and blenders.  Whether you are looking for that special color to fill out a project or need help picking out all the fabric for a quilt, Cloth Carousel can help you.

We offer a full range of classes during the daytime, evenings, and on weekends.  Our in-store classroom accommodates up to 12 students. Our class list is published three times a year.

Special and regular events include mystery quilt classes, retreats, block of the month programs, a variety of monthly project clubs, drop-in Mondays, Quilt & Chat, and an Appliqué Society chapter.

On the first Saturday of the month, Winters hosts an Art Walk which features the historic buildings, houses, and shops of the town. There are art galleries and gift boutiques for your browsing and shopping pleasure. You won’t find any fast food in town, but if you are looking for a great breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack, six restaurants are within one block of  Cloth Carousel.

We look forward to seeing you and sharing our quilt shop and town with you in March.

One Quilt at a Time

We've expanded and we'er located just a few doors down from our old location! One Quilt at a Time is a small business owned by sisters Abbey Pittman and Denise Bloomer. The shop opened its doors in December of 2003 with the main focus being on providing the Tri-City area with a place to buy quality fabrics while offering their customers the feeling of being at home.

Denise has been quilting for 7 years but has been collecting quilting fabrics and books since the mid 1980's. In the years of collecting, she became very interested in the history of quilting and in 1998 became a member of the Piecemakers Guild

Abbey is still pretty new to quilting, but because of her love for collecting fabrics, she found a way to meld all of the collected pieces together and began quilting. She joined the Piecemakers Guild in 2002.

They will show us how to make their latest creations using their most popular patterns. We also have some favorites in the quilting community who will be helping us by bring some of the techniques that they have acquired through the years and pass them on to you by teaching their favorite projects.

In our consignment section, we will showcase a variety of quilts from old and new that are available for you to purchase. Also, if you can part with a quilted item that you have made, we hope you will let us showcase it for you.

Sew Ewe Quilt

Sew Ewe Quilt opened for business in Sept. 2003.  The location of the store is one of the best kept secrets in Brentwood since the store is located in an industrial area.  The name for the store was selected because of the frustration in choosing a name.  All the names selected were already in use on the internet.  Since the logo is a sheep the store motto became "Where The Flock Gathers To Quilt & Sew."  The flock gathers every Tues. night for "open sewing", visiting and therapy.  Each person works on her own projects.

Sew Ewe Quilt has:

Over 3000 bolts of fabrics including Moda, Kaufman, basics, retros, and batiks.A large selection of notions, books, patterns, and gifts.

Quilting classes for all levels of expertise.
Incentive card program for shoppers.

Located in Brentwood behind the Holiday Inn at 470 Harvest Park Drive, Suite E off Highway 4.
